I spotted these PecanPals on the blog Ohdeedoh. Each series of PecanPals is limited to "300 friends" and are made from the typically discarded wood of rubber trees. They each have names, adventures in a whimsical world called Carrara Island, articulated parts and are all crated and hand painted from the team over at Noferin.
