I've moved (well, just my blog...)

Howdy! I'm now posting at http://moore07.posterous.com/. Not as much ability to customize, but WAY easier to update. I hope you'll join me!

Beautiful handmade dresses

I can't believe that it's been two months since I've posted something new!

I just have to share about these dresses, and the mom who makes them:

This is how Sallee of PoppyDip describes herself:
"My heart knowledge of who I am in Christ allows me to be who I am today...
a wife to the most serving devoted husband...a mother of five beautiful children--3 bio and 2 adopted from Ethiopia...a seamstress...a home school mom...and a BUSY life. We are on the journey of our 3rd adoption. So I'm sewing these little dresses for our new one! We are blessed!"

The dresses are 100% handmade and very reasonably priced. And I love the idea of supporting a sister in Christ.

Sweet and simple

I first spied this sweet jewelry by Figs & Ginger on the Longthread blog...I love its simplicity.

From their website: "Figs & Ginger is a husband and wife team making Eco-Friendly sterling jewelry. Each piece is made by hand and much of their work is inspired by the simple beauty found in forests, both imaginary & real."

Cute things...

I found this little shop called Matti's Social Circle on the site Paper N' Stitch, an online exhibition space for artists, designers, makers of handmade goods and independent boutiques. Many more shops to explore - I'm sure I'll have some more favorites!

Globe party

I absolutely love this globe party! (Looks like my husband's obsession with maps is rubbing off on me.) What a great excuse to start/expand a globe collection. I first spotted this at Armelle - The Blog.

Name in print

One of my favorite Christmas books chronicled my adventures with a Christmas elf, meeting Santa Claus figures from around the world. Yep, I was in the book - it was personalized throughout with my name (my friend Jennie and dog Alice made appearances, too) - quite a feat for the early 80's.

Even though we're in the digital age, I think it's still magical to see your name in print (unless it's tied to an arrest warrant in the local newspaper, of course).

Memoir of Me creates books that are personalized for your child/grandchild/niece/nephew. You write a letter, select a character that looks like your child, and they weave your letter into a personalized story. Such a fun way to create a lasting memory. And the illustrations look so cute!

On the blog Family Bliss, they mention a special discount coupon. Type the coupon code: MOMMY and receive 15% off your purchase. Cool!

Beautiful Earth

Curious about what is being captured in these photos? Check it out at The Big Picture. It's definitely worth the few minutes to see them all. Breathtaking.

Fallen Princesses

My precious step-daughter would be scarred for life if she saw these pictures by Dina Goldstein, posted at JPG Magazine. But I have to admit they are very, very clever.
